We’re on the lookout for a dynamic Assistant Site Director to help lead our Before and After School Program at Frelinghuysen Elementary School in Newton, NJ.

In the event of the Site Director’s absence, the Assistant Director will assume responsibility for supervising and managing the program, as well as performing any duties typically assigned to the Site Director.

SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday
JOB STATUS: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
PAY: $15.49 – $17.00 per hour plus our new employer paid childcare benefit

JOB CONSISTS OF:

Support Superstar: The Assistant Director helps the Site Director maintain program compliance with all regulations established by the state of New Jersey.

Champion of Guidelines: Make sure both team members and the program follow OCFS regulations, Healthy Kids procedures, and any requirements from our host school.

Creator of Fun: Lead exciting, hands-on activities grounded in the Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academics, arts, and more. Homework time? You’ll be the go-to homework helper!

Leader in Action: Oversee key operational tasks like keeping accurate records for attendance and registration, and ensuring there’s enough staff on hand to support a smooth-running program.

Clear Communicator: Use the Playground App to stay in regular contact with parents and guardians, sharing updates and building strong relationships.

Team Player: Stay in consistent communication with your direct report, updating them on daily events and promptly addressing any issues. A strong team dynamic ensures excellent care, a supportive environment, and quick resolution of challenges.

Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Associate’s Degree in Education, Psychology, Health Care, Nursing, or any other field related to Child Growth and Development plus two years of experience working with children.
OR

Head Teacher endorsement from the New Jersey Registry for Childhood Professionals, Professional Impact New Jersey.

You’ve got the green light from your doctor – medically fit to rock all the job duties and free of any communicable diseases including TB.
Youre warm, friendly, and upbeat. Exceptional people skills are your jam, whether it’s with kiddos, parents, or fellow team members. Plus, you’re professional, reliable, and always prompt.
You’re ready to bend, stretch, lift, carry (up to 50 lbs.), and basically do whatever it takes to keep up with energetic kiddos
